2. Summary
HEPLANO Senior is a home screen for Android phones. Your settings and own entries stay on your device. HEPLANO does not operate its own servers for this data, does not require a user account, shows no ads and uses no analytics or tracking services.
Data leaves the device only in these cases: HEPLANO uses Google Play for the purchase. For the weather, HEPLANO fetches measurements from the German Weather Service. If you have switched on the Android backup of your Google account, Android saves part of the settings.
3. Data HEPLANO stores on your device
- Settings: language, text size, appearance, chosen apps, assignment of the free tiles, weather app
- Favorites: a reference to a contact and the chosen phone number
- Own entries under “Today” (title, time, “every day”) and the mark “done”
- Start of the 14 days of testing and purchase status
- PIN (optional) and the code for resetting the PIN: not in plain text, only as a check value
This data stays on the device. HEPLANO does not transmit it to us.
4. Permissions
All permissions are optional. Before each system prompt, HEPLANO explains what the permission is for. You can withdraw any permission at any time in the Android settings. HEPLANO then continues to work with limitations.
- Contacts: HEPLANO reads the names, photos, phone numbers and birthdays of your contacts to display them, to make calls possible and to show birthdays under “Today”. HEPLANO does not change any contacts. The contact data does not leave the device.
- Calendar: HEPLANO reads the appointments and shows them under “Today” and in the week view. HEPLANO writes nothing to the calendar.
- Phone: HEPLANO starts a call when you tap. HEPLANO reads neither call lists nor messages. The “Call list” tile opens the call list of your phone.
- Location (approximate only): HEPLANO uses it to find the nearest weather station. The location is only processed on the device, not stored and not sent.
- Access to notifications (optional, to be switched on in the Android settings): HEPLANO counts missed calls and new messages and shows the number on the tile. Only the type of the notification and the app it comes from are read, never title or text. Nothing is stored or sent. You can switch the access off in Android at any time.
5. Weather (German Weather Service)
For the current weather and the forecast, HEPLANO fetches the measurement file and the forecast file of a weather station from the server of the German Weather Service (opendata.dwd.de). Only the ID of the station is transmitted, not a location. As with any request on the internet, the server sees the internet address (IP address) of your phone. HEPLANO itself stores none of it. The privacy policy of the German Weather Service applies. Source of the weather data: Deutscher Wetterdienst, license CC BY 4.0. The weather is only available in and around Germany.
6. Purchase (Google Play)
HEPLANO uses Google Play Billing for the purchase. Google processes the payment. HEPLANO receives no payment data such as card numbers or bank details. At start-up, HEPLANO asks Google Play whether the purchase has already been made. Google’s privacy policy applies.
HEPLANO also uses the review prompt of Google Play, which may appear once after a few days. Google Play controls the prompt. HEPLANO receives no data from it.
7. Backup when changing phones
If the Android backup of your Google account is switched on, Android saves the settings of HEPLANO and the choice of apps for “My apps” and restores them on a new phone. Contacts, favorites, PIN, own entries, test period and purchase are not included. The backup runs through Google, not through a server of HEPLANO. Google’s privacy policy applies.
8. Contact by email
If you write to us at dev@heplano.com, we process your email address and the content of your message to answer your request. HEPLANO does not transmit any data to this address; you decide what you send us.
9. Crash reports
HEPLANO uses no analytics or error reporting software. If you have allowed sharing of usage and diagnostic data on your device, Google may transmit crash data to the Google Play Console, to which we have access.
10. No ads, no tracking, no account
HEPLANO shows no ads, needs no user account, uses no analytics or tracking services and creates no usage profiles.
11. Storage period and deletion
The data stays on your device until you delete it in HEPLANO (“Reset”) or in the Android settings (“Clear data”) or uninstall HEPLANO. When you uninstall, all HEPLANO data is removed from the device. You delete a backup that Android may have made (section 7) in your Google account.
12. Your rights
Subject to the legal requirements, you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection and data portability, and the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. Send requests to dev@heplano.com. Because HEPLANO does not transmit any data to us, we cannot give information about data stored locally. You see it in the app and can delete it yourself.
13. Children
HEPLANO Senior is aimed at adults and is not intended for children. HEPLANO does not knowingly collect data from children.
14. International use
HEPLANO Senior can also be used outside Germany. For users in Switzerland, the revised Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection applies in addition; the statements apply accordingly there.

16. Changes
We adapt this policy when HEPLANO or the legal situation changes. The version published here applies.
