Noting urges: capture a feeling like eating something, without judgement

An urge is a moment in which you feel like eating something. HEPLANO Rhythm lets you note it without rating it.

Short answer

Tap “Note an urge”, choose a category and tap “Note it”. An urge is not an entry and does not change the timer. No category is preselected.

How it works

  1. On “Today”, tap “Note an urge”.
  2. Choose a category: physical hunger, appetite, habit, boredom, stress or emotion, no hunger, or your own entry.
  3. For “Your own entry” you write a name yourself (up to 40 characters). The name is required.
  4. The time is “Now” and can be changed. Tap “Note it”.

Nothing is right or wrong

The app does not rate the categories. There is no good and no bad choice. If you choose “Physical hunger”, the app only reminds you that eating is always fine and offers to add an entry right away. The app never asks you to resist an urge.

In the history

The month and year view (part of Premium) show “Urges by category”, counted from the days you marked as fully documented. The app counts your own entries by name. There is no evaluation and no recommendation.

Frequently asked questions about urges

Does an urge change the timer?

No. An urge is not a meal. The timer keeps counting from the last entry.

Is there an “Other” category?

No. Instead of “Other” you choose “Your own entry” and name it yourself. Older urges with “Other” or “No answer” stay readable.

Does an urge count for points?

Yes, one point per urge, like entries. In total there are at most 10 points a day from entries, urges and movement, plus 5 for a day marked as fully documented. You can hide points.
